Who we are

Ours isn’t a large church community but it has a big heart.

Believing all people to be made in the image of God – and therefore of equal value and worth – we take seriously our calling to be as welcoming, inclusive, and caring a church as possible.

We long to be a community in which people build one another up in love and so are deeply committed to providing a safe place in which people of all ages and backgrounds are enabled to grow and flourish. This very much includes our children, young people and any who are vulnerable. Safeguarding is an integral part of our life and ministry.

Where we are

Our church is situated in the London Borough of Merton and serves the community of Morden as well as Merton Park, SW19 and parts of SW20. Morden is probably best known for being the southern terminus of the Northern Line on the London Underground. Please click here for a map of our location.

We belong to the Methodist Church of Great Britain and take our place in the Wimbledon Circuit, alongside four other local Methodist churches in this part of Southwest London.

Our Community is your community

Longing to be good stewards of creation, and desiring to share what we have with others, we are taking steps to respond both to the climate and cost-of-living crises through our Community Garden Project and our food surplus café, The Open Table. We are delighted that our premises are home to local charity Christian Care Merton.

In addition to those activities, we provide several valued services to the local community including a weekly coffee morning Coffee and Chat and a four-weekly Lunch Club both of which are detailed on our Community page.

Join us for Sunday Worship

We meet to worship God together every Sunday at 10:30am. Holy Communion is celebrated at one morning and one evening service in the month at which all, without exception, are welcome to come to the table of our Lord and share communion. A Café Worship service, where the style is more relaxed, is also held once a month,

If you are able, please come and join us. We would love to see you and a warm welcome is guaranteed.

For the youngsters

Also meeting at 10.30am, children from 0 to 14 years are welcome during term time, to come and learn about Jesus and what the Christian faith is all about. Worship, activities, discussion and fun are all part of the programme.

They have there own sessions except on those Sundays when we all come together for worship in a café setting. They also join the main congregation towards the end of a communion service so they can take part in the sharing of the bread and wine (the elements).

You can watch from home

If you are not able to join us or would like to “try before you buy”, our morning services are usually broadcast live on our Facebook page, the exception being Café Worship where, for safeguarding reasons, it is not streamed. To watch a service again or even for the first time, just click on the high-lighted preacher’s name in the table below. Note that videos are only available for 30 days from the date of the service.
